Corpfin Capital Corpfin Capital has entered the shareholding of Kids&Us English, a company specialised in teaching English to children, in which it has taken a majority stake with the aim of driving its strategic plan.
Quim Serracanta and Natàlia Perarnau, founders of the company, will remain as reference shareholders, sources from Kids&Us told Efe, adding that the current management team will also remain in place.
The company’s strategic plan involves its expansion in Spain and its consolidation in the international markets where it is already present (France, Italy, Belgium, Andorra, the Czech Republic, Morocco and Mexico), as well as its entry into other countries.
Kids&Us currently has 376 centres under a franchise model—319 in Spain and 57 abroad—and last year generated €18 million in revenue. The firm expects to close the current financial year with turnover exceeding €20 million.
According to the same source, the franchises operating under its brand generate combined revenues of more than €84 million, employ nearly 3,000 professionals and provide classes to 115,000 students.
Under its expansion plan, it foresees the opening of more than 200 new centres in the markets where it is already present and entry into new emerging markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia, with the aim of reaching 200,000 students by 2020.
As part of this strategy, the first country that Kids&Us will target is Japan, where it plans to begin operations in April 2018.
