The private equity firm Corpfin Capital has acquired a majority stake in the children’s English teaching chain Kids & Us in order to accelerate its growth and internationalisation.
With 376 franchised centres, the company, headquartered in Manresa, was founded 15 years ago. In 2016 it generated €18 million in revenue, although the combined business of the academies amounts to €84 million.
The founders of the chain, the philologist Natàlia Perarnau and the economist Quim Serracanta, will retain a minority stake and will continue to lead the business in this new stage.
Kids&Us currently has 115,000 students and its objective is to reach 200,000 by 2020. In international markets, its most immediate objective is entry into the Japanese market.
