Servicios Turísticos Marjal (STM)—the company that brings together the tourism division of the Alicante-based holding Grupo Marjal, and which since February has been 50% owned by Corpfin Capital—increased its revenue by 68% in 2018, reaching €17.3 million, according to company data. -la empresa que aglutina la división turística del holding alicantino Marjal y que desde febrero está participada en un 50% por el fondo Corpfin- aumentó un 68% su facturación en 2018 hasta los 17,3 millones, según datos de la compañía.

This growth was driven by investments in the expansion and improvement of its existing complexes in Guardamar del Segura and Crevillente, as well as the acquisition of a third camping resort in Tarragona last year, Alannia Els Prats. Consolidated net profit reached €1.37 million.

“These results confirm the successful execution of Servicios Turísticos Marjal’s business plan, aimed at growth and the addition of new establishments along the Mediterranean coast,” said Fernando Garijo, CEO of the company.

Positive performance is also reflected in the standalone accounts of its two camping resorts in the province of Alicante—Marjal Guardamar Camping Resort, opened in the 1990s, and Marjal Costa Blanca Resort, launched in Crevillente in 2011—which increased their revenue by 30% compared to 2017, reaching €13.7 million and generating profits of €950,000, up 38% year-on-year.

Servicios Turísticos Marjal aims to become the leading camping-resort chain in the Mediterranean. This objective led the family-owned company to bring in Corpfin Capital through a buy-and-build strategy, combining organic and inorganic growth.

More recently, STM has created a new company, Alannia Salou, for the “operation of hotel and camping facilities, agriculture, and water extraction and distribution for irrigation.” Company sources indicate that this entity is intended to explore “future projects in the area, although nothing has yet been finalised.” Another change is the departure from the board of directors, after a few months, of independent member Ezequiel Sánchez Cascales, former CEO of Tempe and founder of Binomio Ventures, a firm specialising in business development.
