Diario Expansión. Álvaro Olivares, managing partner of Corpfin Capital, who led the investment in Dimoldura.
The fund Corpfin Capital is stepping up its pace of acquisitions. Shortly after completing its entry into fishmeal producer Grupo Barna, the veteran Spanish private equity manager has closed a new investment. It is the mouldings and doors manufacturer Grupo Dimoldura, where it has taken a participación mayoritaria majority stake in the shareholding and, therefore, control, according to the firm itself.
Corpfin thus places its confidence in the prospects of an activity closely linked to construction and the real estate sector and, above all, in the potential of a company with more than 20 years of experience.
A consolidation lever with Corpfin Capital
Since its inception in 1996, Dimoldura has become a benchmark in the production of coated profiles and mouldings. From 2014 onwards, the group also moved into door manufacturing with the acquisition of three companies: Puertas Carsal, Portadeza and Puertas Dimara. These additions have helped the group’s revenue exceed €50 million and its workforce surpass 300 employees.
Now, Corpfin’s entry aims to give a new boost to Grupo Dimoldura. The fund’s plans involve supporting its expansion through both business internationalisation and inorganic growth. In fact, the private equity firm states that it will seek opportunities to acquire companies that complement and add value to the project.
Corpfin has carried out this new investment through its fourth private equity vehicle, closed in 2015 after raising €255 million, which still has capacity for further acquisitions. Therefore, the pool of committed resources in the new fund Corpfin Capital Fund V, which the firm’s managers are finalising these days and which will have a maximum size of €300 million, remains untouched.
Mainspring Partners acted as financial advisor on the transaction Mainspring Partners, having supported the company in its acquisitions over the past five years. Allen & Overy and Garrigues acted as legal advisors.
